This isn't a cry for attention. This is a cry for help. For I've a sister, a mother, a woman I love, and friends who live in an ever impending danger. Why? Just because they were born a woman, born of the "weaker sex". I've never cringed liked I did today after I came across a video of a drunk guy raping a woman in BROAD DAYLIGHT as others stood by and did nothing. My apologies, they did do something. With mobile phones they had, which they could use inform the police, they instead chose to record the whole incident. Not a single person, neither a man nor a woman stepped in.
People go around saying how this whole thing is in this state because "neither side does nothing".
Excuse me? What is that supposed to mean? THE WOMEN NEED NOT DO ANYTHING IF THERE WAS NO RAPE/MOLESTATION TO BEGIN WITH. No matter what, where, when, the rape is always the rapists' fault and not the victims'. The people who say that rapes happens because the victim(usually women) lured men with their skimpy clothes. To all these people, just one question here, please check this link. 7 year old girl raped by Police. I wonder what kind of clothes did this little girl wear? What kind of sexual advances must have she made for the policeman to do this? Can you answer that?

You read that right. The numbers don't end here. 5000 WOMEN ARE MOLESTED "EVERYDAY". I repeat "EVERYDAY".
ONLY 2-5% OF THESE ARE EVER REPORTED.
WHAT'S EVEN BETTER? JUST 5% OF THESE REPORTED CASES ARE EVER CONVICTED.
This means that for every 1000 rapes/molestation, only 20 are reported and only 1 accused is convicted.
The numbers are right before you. These numbers are just a rough sketch while the actual scene is way worse off.
Are you okay with how things are?
Are you okay with your mother and sister walking out, into a society like this?
When your friends stare or pass lewd comments on women passing by, someone else is doing the same with your mother "and" your sister. Why do you hesitate to stop them? Why're you feeling awkward when they're the guilty ones? When you stop one such person, chances are you're making sure that you save a woman/girl from a future molester/rapist, that woman maybe even your own sister or mother.
Standing up against rape is a woman's as well as man's duty, but stopping rapes and molestation is A MAN'S DUTY.
